Risk Trader – Entry Level Role

Who you’ll work with

As a member of the Trading Risk team you will sit centrally within the Trading Department and be responsible for more than 50 different sports that Sky Bet currently offer to customers. The team is responsible for price management to ensure that all markets are kept up to date and in line within a fast-moving industry. Client profiling is another core aspect of the role, as the focus on customer is central to everything that Sky Betting and Gaming does.

Your role in ‘better’

• Assume responsibility of price management across the sportsbook.
• Customer profiling, both proactively and with the use of retrospective customer reports to best manage our customer base.
• Review bet alerts via our real-time bet monitoring tools, analysing markets and betting patterns in order to identify potential trading or integrity risks.
• Overseeing trading liabilities and protecting the business from any potential risks.
• Work closely with other operational teams and analysts to identify areas of weakness and process improvement possibilities.

This will help develop your skills and knowledge towards trading, therefore setting you on your way to be successful within our number one team. We will be looking for the successful candidate to be:

• An excellent communicator – This will be critica lto succeed in a role that involves talking to numerous third parties, as well as a large team of traders responsible for compiling odds for a multitude of sporting events.
• Technologically Skilled - In an exciting digital business, technology is important to us and a good standard of computer literacy is important. Microsoft Excel is one of our main tools and the ability/passion to write VBA or code in other languages will be beneficial.
• Mathematically strong - In a world of managing probability, mathematical and analytical skills are vital. You will be responsible for ensuring that our odds reflect the chances of millions of different possibilities on a daily basis.
• Passionate for quality - We're looking for someone to show a determination to make things as good as they can be, with attention to detail and a willingness to suggest and implement further improvements to our processes and ways of working.
