The University of Dundee is a global institution with over 16,000 students and 3,000 staff from around 150 different countries across the world.

We’re one of the UK’s top 25 universities (The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020), as well as 2nd in Scotland for graduate prospects (Complete University Guide 2020).

Dundee is dynamic and multicultural, recently being described as “Britain’s coolest little city” (GQ Magazine). The city is a major centre for creative and hi-tech industries and has a large student population. It is also an affordable place to live, with private rent in Dundee costing on average 20% less than the Scottish national average (Citylets Rental Report, Q4, 2018).

Most of all, it’s Dundee’s unique atmosphere and character that really makes us stand out.

As well as this, the CWTS Leiden Rankings 2019 placed us 15th in the world, based on the proportion of citations in the most cited 1% of articles across all disciplines. The University was also ranked 1st in the UK and 8th globally for ‘Biomedical and Health Science’ publications. As a student at Dundee, you’ll be part of a diverse and talented community, learning from those who are experts in their field.

Facilities

Our City campus is in the heart of Dundee, just a few minutes’ walk from the best bars, restaurants, cafés and shops in the city. On the campus itself, you can find top-class sports and gym facilities as well as Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA). Ranked the number one Students’ Association in Scotland in the National Student Survey 2019 (NSS), DUSA is a central hub for our students, offering a shop, swimming pool, bars, clubs and food.

Dundee’s main library gives you long opening hours (open until 2:30am in semester time and 24 hours a day during exams) as well as a café. Recently refurbished and upgraded, it offers everything you would expect from a modern university library, plus relaxation areas, group study rooms with the latest technology, and flexible, creative spaces.

We also offer a wide range of services to support our students, including academic, personal, or financial support and guidance. For example, our Careers Service provides a range of services to help with your career goals, whether you are a current student or a graduate seeking placement, part-time work, or a full-time graduate-level position.
